As you might know, WEST Snowboarding is constantly pushing some limits and willing to unfollow instead of following. Born in Cannes in 1981, Lucas Beaufort is a French visionary artist-painter living in a world surrounded by imaginary characters, kind but mischievous monsters, who help him build a positive image on the world and guide his choices every day.
But do we still have to introduce Lucas? We have been working with Lucas first time for a board in the signature line of our collection 2017-18. Just few days after he sent us his graphic we also asked him if he would like to paint directly on a board. As most of the “real” artist, he was even more motivated on this project of using a snowboard as a unique canvas.
Since then… well you know his incredible evolution, right.

A Lion under the hood, ready to jump, Lowriderteeshirt starts the engine.
LRT puts on 1st gear and steps on the gas. Always full of ideas, driving since 2000 to the rhythm of a roaring engine...
On the way LRT takes on board hitchhikers like: graphic designers, illustrators and video artists. LRT keeps on riding and realizes that some ideas exchanged in the cockpit end up printed on textile, paper, etc... LRT leaves some skid marks behind and keep on until the next intersection. Take the time to polish and bring a shine to the body, a couple of stickers, full of new designs wrapped and loaded into the trunk, LRT puts the blinker on and back onto the road.
Change of color, pimp and shinny, at LRT there are no races, no trophies at the end of the straight away, just the idea of having fun and who knows discuss what's under the hood...
After the ride, in the garage, the engine stays warm until the next escapade...
Serge is most definitely the famous infamous of the area. You wouldn’t believe the massive projects he was involved in during his career. He did so much that we could write a book about it. Passionate snowboarder who loves skateboarding and surfing. Serge has the perfect understanding of how to give birth to the best graphic design on a board. We first asked him to paint this One of a kind about two years ago but you can now also find his art on the Team Signature series 2019.

Simon is an independent artist based in our area, Montreux-Vevey Riviera, Switzerland. He’s now mostly working at Think Tattoo in Montreux. Simon has been an enthusiastic Snowboarder since his young age. He also used to grab of the mic during several Snowboard Events such as “Nescafé Champs Leysin”. Simon has been working with us for the project in collaboration with the legendary hip-hop band “IAM”. He painted a Samurai on a bamboo topsheet. We also invited him at the Event “Into the ride” in Martigny where he painted this board in front of a large and young audience during the show.

Mike “aemka” Knobel is an all-round artist based in Zürich, Switzerland. His work covers a wide range of media such as online/offline graphics, corporate design, print design (magazine & catalog layouts; poster, flyer & packaging design), fine arts, interior & exterior design, streetwear & outerwear design, animation, video & music production.
The main illustrating style used by aemka is best described as a symphony of flowing lines, shapes and patterns where everything has its exact place and an intense rate of detail. This manner derives from his early love for black markers in all shapes and sizes, and how the black ink hit the white paper every time he drew the first line.
Aemka was drawing his first board for WEST in 2016 for a collaboration with “Hä? Wear” and after this collaboration we together decided to work on this “One of a kind” project.

Linus von Moos a.k.a. Rips1, is a Swiss artist and illustrator whose artistic portfolio includes murals, paintings as well as digital works.
Many of Rips1’s illustrations can moreover be found on various daily life products, such as clothing, skateboards or bottles. His artistic handwriting in his illustrations are not only very famous in Lucerne and its surroundings, but also over the boarders of Europe. Often, he is also assigned responsibility for designing the appearance and identity of bands or large-scale events.
